Launching satellites into Low Earth Orbit (LEO) reliably and affordably is a problem that companies like SpaceX, Rocket Lab, and others are rapidly solving. But moving satelliteswithin and between orbits — from LEO into geosynchronous orbit, for example — is a different challenge. Impulse Space is developing two vehicles, Helios and Mira, that enable reliable, rapid, and cost-effective transportation in space, such as taking a multi-ton payload from LEO to GEO in less than 24 hours. Both vehicles use nontoxic chemical bipropellants to deliver high delta‑v (change in momentum per unit of mass) and greatly simplify mission operations. From payload hosting to precision deployments, Impulse Space is helping build the in-space transportation infrastructure to unlock new opportunities in orbit.
