DCVC welcomes Milo Werner
We are delighted to announce the addition of Milo Werner to DCVC, where she will serve as a General Partner focused on climate. Milo was most recently a General Partner at MIT spinout Engine Ventures.
Milo arrives at an important moment for the firm. Though we have been investing in companies addressing climate change since 2012, DCVC Climate is our first dedicated climate fund. We are backing entrepreneurs with breakthrough deep tech advances that are commercially and technically prepared to solve the world’s toughest climate challenges. The fund focuses on commercializing emerging climate tech solutions to catalyze meaningful improvements to established value chains, decarbonize high emitting industries, and contribute to mitigation and adaptation efforts.
Milo will help lead our work not only in identifying attractive climate companies, but also in supporting them through all stages of their growth. She brings a formidable combination of investment experience — not only at The Engine, but also at Ajax Strategies and Khosla Ventures — and operational experience, most notably at Tesla.
Milo brings deep expertise in commercialization broadly. Leveraging her extensive industrial experience, she founded The NextGen Industry Group to support companies commercializing advanced manufacturing technologies. The group brings together leaders, operators, industry experts, and capital providers to develop thought leadership and best practices in manufacturing strategy, capital stack construction, industrial policy, and strategic partnerships.
We are very fortunate that Milo has long known and worked with DCVC Partner Dr. Rachel Slaybaugh, who will continue to help lead our investments in DCVC Climate, as well as our climate investments in our flagship funds.
Milo’s addition to DCVC only further energizes our efforts around climate. We are primed for the work ahead — backing the most extraordinary climate founders in the world. Please join us in welcoming Milo to DCVC!
